esol classes
in partnership with glasgow life
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes help people learn and improve their English. At the moment we host two Community ESOL classes on a Wednesday. This class is for anyone aged 16 and over with English as a second language. It is designed for those who want to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Improving English offers many benefits for learners. It helps them understand important information and express their opinions and ideas. They can meet people, make friends, and feel less isolated. It also increases employability, supports community integration, and improves health and well-being.
Beginner Class
In the Beginners class, students learn simple English words and sentences for everyday life. They practise speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Topics include greetings, shopping, family, numbers, and using English in places like the doctor or the bus stop. This class is for people who are just starting to learn English.
Intermediate Class
The Intermediate class is for people who already know some English and want to get better. Students build confidence in speaking, improve grammar, and learn more words. They practise conversations, reading longer texts, writing short messages or emails, and understanding English used in work or the community. This class helps learners become more independent in English.
To help us find the best class for you, we will invite you to come to an ESOL assessment session first. This helps us understand your level and give you the right support.
